With your help\, we will be granting wishes for a special group of women in recovery who have newborns or are expecting a little one. We will also contribute to South Shore Recovery Home\, a men’s halfway house in Quincy. Please bring donations new\, unwrapped and in original packaging to the Holiday Party.

DESCRIPTION:Join us at SSPR for a SOMA breathwork workshop followed by tea and community time. \n\n\n\nThe Energized Meditation Routine is designed to release tension from the body\, boost your mood\, and be a super-effective breathwork meditation. \n\n\n\nSome Benefits of breathwork include decreased stress\, decrease in anxiety and depression\, balances two sides of the autonomic nervous system\, creates better circulation and blood flow\, boosts immune\, cardiovascular and respiratory system\, creates smooth digestion\, boosts energy and mood levels\, generates peace. \n\n\n\nGratitude and high vibrational energy are key components to the energized meditation workshop. The workshop will include a warmup (whole brain activation\, dance and movement)\, AUM chanting\, releasing tension in the face\, breathwork and final meditation. SOMA™Music will be used to guide and enhance your experience. Benefits include improved overall feeling of well-being\, increased energy and stamina.  \n\n\n\nThe workshop is facilitated by Joy Kingsbury MS OTR/L\, RYT-200\, Level 1 Certified Soma™ Breath Instructor. Joy is an occupational therapist who has facilitated yoga and meditation classes for 15 years. She is also a grateful person in recovery.

DESCRIPTION:The Town of Scituate\, Scituate FACTS Coalition\, and South Shore Peer Recovery welcome all to a service on International Overdose Awareness Day\, Monday\, August 31\, 2020 at 5:45am at the Old Scituate Lighthouse\, 100 Lighthouse Road\, Scituate Harbor.\n\nThe Scituate service will acknowledge police officers\, firefighters\, emergency room workers\, treatment providers\, individuals in recovery\, and members of the community groups who have been working to reduce fatal overdoses and help those who still suffer.\n\nAll communities are welcome\, as we remember together. Information on grief support\, Narcan access\, as well as treatment and recovery resources\, will be available before and after the service in the resource tent in the parking lot. Rain or shine.\n\n\nFree and confidential Narcan is available to potential bystanders from Manet Community Health. Outreach specialist Kelsey Foley will be available immediately after the service to provide life saving info and medication. If you prefer to meet back at the recovery center\, Narcan will be available there from about 6:45-7:30am.
