Fostering a safe space for recovery

Refuge Recovery

Grounded in the belief that Buddhist principles and practices create a strong foundation for the addiction recovery process, wisdom and compassion enable those struggling with any form of addiction to become more mindful of their mental processes while also developing a deep understanding of the suffering that addiction has created and compassion for their own pain.  This is a 1-hour, 15 minute weekly group facilitated by Christopher M. Mandeville, a man in long-term recovery. Drop-ins welcome. Meets Tuesdays from 7:00pm – 8:15pm.

ABOUT THE FACILITATOR: Christopher M. Mandeville

Christopher M. Mandeville is in long-term recovery from substance use disorder. His journey started out in the Department of Corrections, something he’s extremely grateful for today. Chris has done many things throughout his recovery to add to his spiritual tool kit and likes the non-traditional aspect of Refuge Recovery, which is why he wants to practice and facilitate this group for South Shore Peer Recovery. He is one of the hosts for a recovery podcast called “Life On Life’s Terms.” Chris has come to realize the importance of mindfulness and meditation and wants to share it with others.
